Hannover 96 to Wear Under Armour?

Tagged: Hannover 96

You heard correctly.  The respected German Club will don Under Armour next season and becomes the first major European Club to do so.  Me being an American I have seen Under Armour make its mark in every other sport, so to see it starting in football is no surprise.  I have not personally worn anything from the company, but have seen it on professional athletes in baseball, american football and lacrosse.  I have yet to hear any complaints.  Look for Under Armour and Hannover 96 to make a big splash with a unique kit once they unveil it.

Coventry City 125th Anniversary Kit Vote

Tagged: Coventry City

Coventry City is coming up on a milestone next season and they are asking for the input of it supporters.  Next season will mark the 125th season for the celebrated club and there are two kits up for vote for this special home kit.  Below are the two kits in question.

Coventy City 125th Kit Vote

Honestly the only difference I see in the two kits is the 3 light blue stripes have dark blue lines outlining them on kit B.  Thus making it my favorite.  It’s cleaner, what can I say?  Fans are encouraged to participate to help pick this special kit for next season that features a special crest for the landmark of 125 years.  E-mail your submission to customerservice@ccfc.co.uk with either A or B if you want to participate.

New Chelsea Kit

The Sun has received some leaked photos of the new Chelsea kit.  Not too bad in my opinion.  Has more of a retro look to it, and it’s simple.  Two things that I personally like to see in a kit.

Positioned on a solid field of blue, the collar is designed slightly different than in previous versions of the kit and is white with a touch of yellow around the edges.  The yellow around the collar is complimented nicely with the yellow piping along the bottom of the sleeves.  Overall a nice kit that pays tribute to the Chelsea teams before.

Brazil 2008-09 Away Kit

Tagged: Brazil

Brazil has released the 2008-09 Away Kit, and unlike my other posts I have the whole kit this time. From the top to the socks, it’s all there. Also I believe it should be noted that since Nike has now signed with France for three times as much as their contract with Brazil, the management for the Brazilian National Team is renegotiating its contract. Could we see Ronaldinho in something other than a Nike kit? Time will tell on that one. On to the kit.

Australia Home & Away Kit - 2008-2009 - Nike

Tagged: Australia - Nike

While watching Australia’s first qualifier for the 2010 FIFA World Cup against Qatar in Melbourne, in the comfort of my lounge, I noticed something about the classic gold and green kits the Socceroos wore; They were the brand new Nike Australia home kits, which along with the away version were recently released by Nike.

Featuring the gold with green trims Aussie fans (myself included) have gotten used to, and seen memorable moments in, Nike have kept it simple with the new designs.

LA Galaxy 2007-08 Away Kit

Tagged: LA Galaxy - MLS - USA

While Beckham and crew are doing their world tour and the MLS is promoting the mess out of thier league, there is a little football that is being played. Earlier I posted the old LA Galaxy kit that was awful and extremely ugly. Well when Beckham signed, it must have been too much for him to handle and the LA Galaxy went to a much better color scheme and design.

LA Galaxy 2006-07 Home Kit

Tagged: LA Galaxy - MLS

Many things changed when David Beckham decided to leave Europe and play in the MLS for the Los Angeles Galaxy. None more important that the changing of the badge for the LA Galaxy. Wow was the first set of the kits horribe or what? The logo, the design, the colors…just bad. Oh yeah, and the MLS got a lot of publicity all over the world.

With the MLS season approaching I thought I would feature some of the older kits before unveiling the new kits for the upcoming campaign. This is the 2006-07 Home kit that the Galaxy wore prior to Beckham’s arrival. Yellow with a large green diagonal stripe is absolutely horrible. The only good thing about this kit is that Adidas made it, so you know it is a quality kit. Add the bad “Galaxy” logo to the left chest and you have an embarassment. Now I understand in the beginning the bad kits, but this was what they wore for almost 10 years! Should have been dropped a long time before that, however I will give it a 2 out of 5 stars for effort…and effort only. The color scheme is bad, the design is bad, the logo is bad, it’s just bad.

Ireland 2006-08 Home Kit

Tagged: Ireland

Ireland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and they are crazy about two things. Beer and football. Though I do not know their favorite beer, I do know they are crazy about their football team. Umbro has long had the task of making a nice kit for a proud nation.

This kit is a winner in my opinion. Not because of Umbro, they have made some horrible kits recently (Like the new England Away Kit), but the color scheme is perfect and the simplicity is key. Solid green, which is Ireland’s main color, and touches of white and orange here and there are all this kits has. Which makes it nicer in my opinion. This could have very easily been a kit that was marked for disaster, however Umbro pulled it off with a beautiful kit that the Irish will wear for the remainder of this year at home. 4 out of 5 from me.

Spain 2008-09 Away Kit

Tagged: Euro 2008 - Spain

Spain has long since been one of the best teams in the world. Adidas has done their part in giving them great looking kits for a number of years, and with the unveiling of the new Away kit that trend will continue. Great looking kit for an explosive team.

Playing on the gold inside of the Spanish crest, Adidas went with a solid gold top with black stripes on the sleeves. By adding the Spanish Crest on the left chest, which by the way is a perfect size crest, there is balance around the jersey. One nice touch is the lighter gold on the inside of the sleeves, complimented by the black piping going down the front. This is one of the nicest kits I have seen in a while. Definitely ranks up there with the best. I do not like giving perfect scores, but this one is close. I’m going to give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
