Manchester United 08/09 Third Shirt

Manchester United’s 08/09 Third Kit is all blue, and looks more like last season’s keeper’s kit than anything else.

Update: It’s the official third kit folks - and a very sweet blue kit at that.

Blue might not be the preferred color for most fans (last season’s black away kit was wildly popular) but this shade of blue is quite good and makes for a very attractive shirt overall. Plus I loved it when last season’s home shirt was revealed and EVDS was wearing this color for the goalkeeper’s shirt.

  1. This is fake, a similar one was posted a year ago.

  2. this looks realy good, but guess what, it looks to “chelsea-ish”. Man utd all the way even if we wear purple or green, as long as it’s not the light blue of Man city

  3. When’s the new kit going to be released? i love the 2008/2009 third kit.

  4. June 9, 2008Err 68 ...

For those questioning blue, I seem to remember United did pretty well in blue back in 1968 !!!

This is not thew kit it is a short sleeved version of the 2007 2008 goalkeeper jersey.

  6. Yeh this is the short sleeved 07/08 keeper shirt. I do like the blue though. It does have some historic significance, similar to the red england kit, as it was worn in the 1968 European Cup final against Benfica at Wembley (We Won).

  7. the lines are reminecent of the moscow CL final branding…

  8. fake!!!! rip-off!

  12. wat a sexi jersey

  13. Lies!!! the black away kit will continue to be the second strip, with the new white and blue jersey to be the 3rd shirt to replace last years white with black/gold trim shirt.

  14. To EdManet, United will be losing the black jersey. They’re getting a new away jersey (19th June) and new 3rd jersey (28 August). Its even on the website, the black jersey is down as ‘2007/8′, while the home jersey is ‘2007/9′.

  15. that is just the 07/08 goalkeeper shirt with short sleeves.

    This years kit is white.

  16. Its nofin new its onli got new(goal keeper 07/08 seasons strip) dark stripes and overall the newest thing in the pic is probably the price tags!!

  18. It’s official - this is the 08/09 third kit.

  19. This is terrible.
Manchester United players are Red Deviles no Blue Deviles.
    Black is much better.

  20. love this kit man u rocks

  21. Whether this is the third kit of not, its out 16th September

  22. the kit isn’t “chelsea-ish” its blue because thats the colour we won our first Champions league in. our fans know nothing about united…..

United were wearing blue as far back as 1903. The blue and white stipes shirt of the mid 90s was based on this.

CRS is right, but it can be said for the fans of many teams.
Teams wore allsort of strange designs over the years.

I see Liverpool are wearing some kind of blue for a 3rd shirt this season. Should shock the Scousers as they’d probably not know they used Everton’s old kit when the left Anfield.

  24. this kit is well good beter than than the black one from last seoson!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. what a kit this is the best ever blue kit beter than the black 1 from last seson its a world beater

  26. did anyone notice the new kit letters and numbers that were worn during solskjaer’s testimonial against espanyol? are those the new european numbers to replace the silver ones we wore last year?

  27. the reason for blue is to celebrate our 50th year European Glory. We won our first European Cup in dark blue jersey against Benfica 50 years ago, and hopefully this jersey will also inspire our lads to defend our crown.

  28. I actually saw this shirt in a Nike store in downtown Chicago about 3 weeks ago. Shame they didn’t have it in my size. They were also selling the blue shorts that go with it…..with the embroidery around the crest on the shorts………so it is actually a kit!

    Cheers

  29. I got this top yesterday. Some fella had 4 shirts to sell, im thinkin they fell off back of a lorry, only problem was he only had medium but I bought it stil, 25 quid, fits perfect. No joke.

  33. that is real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. I think this would be the new 3rd kit of Man Utd that will be lauched on 16th Sept as shown on the official united website. I saw the pirated 3rd jersey selling in Malaysia. Should be made in Thailand.
