DC United 2008 Home Kit
DC United has stuck with their normal black kit for home matches. Ever since their inception, the club has represented the nation’s capital in black at home, with no sponsor or team name on the chest. The only identifying characteristic between this kit and a normal black t-shirt is the DC United logo on the left chest. Understated, not distracting, and traditional are the words that describe this kit.
DC United 2008 Away Kit
The away kit is also very traditional, just in white instead of black. The DC players will look a little less intimidating in white than in black, but they will be much happier playing in white in mid-summer heat. Again, there is a lack of writing or logo on the chest, and just the club crest, which sticks out better on white than on black, to distinguish this shirt.

You may want to mention that the shirts are in a state of flux until a uniform sponsorship deal is finalized. Which is why the three stripes were dropped in the first place.
Two more points.
United now has a sponsorship deal with VW, so there’s a change to the uniform, and what you show is the replica shirt which is intended for retail sale, and not the authentic or team issued shirt which has things like four silver stars above the team logo/shield.
