Manchester United 08/09 Third Shirt

Manchester United’s 08/09 Third Kit is all blue, and looks more like last season’s keeper’s kit than anything else.

Update: It’s the official third kit folks - and a very sweet blue kit at that.

Blue might not be the preferred color for most fans (last season’s black away kit was wildly popular) but this shade of blue is quite good and makes for a very attractive shirt overall. Plus I loved it when last season’s home shirt was revealed and EVDS was wearing this color for the goalkeeper’s shirt.

Barcelona 08-09 Away Shirt

Barcelona’s 08/09 away kit is all-yellow with a vertical stripe in club colours running down the left side of the shirt on the front (neatly encapsulating the Barcelona logo) and navy blue collar and shorts.

In terms of the base color it’s a lot better than the last year’s away kit although one highlight of Barcelona’s kits in recent years has been how well everything - from the logo to the inscriptions and color combinations - fits together and credit for that goes to Nike for paying attention to detail.

Barcelona 08-09 Home Shirt

Barcelona’s 08/09 home kit is half red and half blue (with the traditional blue shorts) and although some fans (typically) don’t like the new kit, I think it’s a bold and successful design by Nike and it also serves to reflect the internal (spiritual) conflict in the club in terms of bridging the success of the past with their present and future achievements on the pitch.

Ebbsfleet United 08-09 Home Shirt

Ebbsfleet United (the MyFC-owned club) have a new home shirt for the upcoming season, as voted on by the fans. Ebbsfleet United’s kits are manufactured by Nike (great PR coup by MyFC) and sponsored by EuroStar.

The shirt itself is simple and elegant, all red with white panels on the sides.

Arsenal 08/09 Away Shirt

Arsenal’s 08/09 away shirt is yellow with a blue collar, blue sleeves and a red strip running from the neck down the sleeves.

The leaked images don’t exactly show off the true colours of the kit but from what I’ve seen so far Arsenal and Nike have done a fairly decent job and coupled with the 08/10 Arsenal home kit the Gunners have a decent pair to wear this season.

Celtic 08/09 Away Shirt

Celtic’s 08/09 away kit is … well … yellow with green trimmings. Some people have criticised it for looking too much like Brazil / Australia but it has the potential to be quite a smashing kit once the season starts. Well done Nike.

You can order your Celtic 08/09 away kit here.

Fulham 08/09 Home Shirt

Fulham’s 08/09 home kit is manufactured by Nike and is in it’s traditional white with a black collar and sleeve rims, which help give the kit a traditional style and substance. The LG logo covers the center with the Nike swoosh and the FFC crest on the right and left sides respectively.

Manchester United 08/09 Away Shirt

Manchester United’s 08/09 away kit is white, but I doubt that many United fans would have expected the white away kit to have blue trimmings. The dash of red on the front of the collar gives it some feeling though.

You can order the United 08/09 away kit here.

We’ve seen blue on United kits before - so it’s not as if this one is ‘out of the blue’ (excuse the pun) - and this time with the home kit unchanged, the new theme color is blue instead of black (the third kit is expected to be blue).

Arsenal 08/09 Home Shirt

Arsenal’s 08/09 home kit photos have been leaked - the photo features Gallas, Fabregas, Walcott and Almunia (whose top looks more like a Nike training kit). The 08/09 Arsenal home kit is a progressive design from Nike with red sleeves and a white band running down the sleeves from the neck as well as white on the sides.

The shirt also has ‘Gunners’ written on the back of the neck.

Manchester United - 07/08 Champions Range

Manchester United secured their second consecutive Premier League title on 11 May 2008, and if that wasn’t enough, they lived up to the expectations of 300+ million fans around the world to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy in Moscow last night.

It was a close game that ended up being decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. The game had everything - domination from both sides, quality goals, heart-stopping misses, the farcical ganging up on the ref, the tragedy of missing crucial penalties and the sheer euphoria of winning the biggest club title of them all.

Manchester United are now 3-time European Champions, and 10-time Premier League winners. If there was ever a manager who lived up to his promises, it is Sir Alex Ferguson with his promise to knock Liverpool off their perch.

United now have 17 league titles to Liverpool’s 18 and 3 European titles to Liverpool’s 5. Would you bet against this United side?

KitBag have released special shirts, caps and badges to celebrate the Premier League / European Cup double.

Have a look:
