Chelsea 08/09 Away Shirt

Chelsea’s 08/09 away kit will be launched on 10th July and is available for pre-order right now.

This year Chelsea have gone with a black away kit - you can hardly go wrong with black, but then again once you move away from electric yellow black almost seems tame in comparison.

Nothing spectacular about the kit - the usual Adidas stuff on the shoulders, sleeves and sides. I’d make a joke about Chelsea’s football being as exciting as their black and white shirt but the kit is decent, so let’s leave that for the 3rd kit, eh?

Chelsea 08/09 Home Kit

The Chelsea 08/09 home kit is now available.

Personally I like the gold trim and the collar is quite stylish as well (more imposing than the Liverpool one here). Overall, good kit (allowing for the adidas stripes on the shoulders which are a turnoff but nothing you can do about that).

Here’s the shirt itself:

New Chelsea Kit

The Sun has received some leaked photos of the new Chelsea kit.  Not too bad in my opinion.  Has more of a retro look to it, and it’s simple.  Two things that I personally like to see in a kit.

Positioned on a solid field of blue, the collar is designed slightly different than in previous versions of the kit and is white with a touch of yellow around the edges.  The yellow around the collar is complimented nicely with the yellow piping along the bottom of the sleeves.  Overall a nice kit that pays tribute to the Chelsea teams before.

Chelsea 2007-08 Third Kit

From the depths of the kit pool comes the Third Kit that Chelsea will wear during the 2007-08 campaign. This top is more like the away kits of old, before the “Electricity Yellow” came into the scene. Adidas and Chelsea took a solid white top and added the traditional Adidas stripes down the arms in black, several symetrical markings of the Chelsea blue, the badge on the left chest, sponsor logo in the middle in the same blue and as a retro look…a collar. A real collar. Something you do not see too often with kits these days. On the back of the collar is “Chelsea FC”, a nice touch to a nice jersey.

I really like this particular kit. It has a classic feel and personally I think it should have been the away kit, and the club could have used the yellow highlighter kit as their third set. Regardless I think Adidas and Chelsea were right on when they designed this particular kit.

Chelsea 2007-08 Away Kit

Chelsea has always been known for their traditional kits, from their solid blues at home matches, to the white they wear at opposing sides stadiums. But for the 2007-08 season, the away kit is anything but traditional. Utilizing a color known as “Electricity Yellow”, Chelsea and Adidas have rewritten the books on kit color schemes. This electric kit is nothing more than the yellow with black markings, logos and the Adidas stripes down the arms.

Now I would not be truthful if I said that I liked this kit. I do not, however it is growing on me the more I see it. For me it is too flashy and has too much going on, but again it is growing on me. Chelsea has long been a club that provides their fans with electricity on the pitch, well now you too can have the same “electricity” in the stands as a fan. If Chelsea needed a spark for their fans, this might just have done it.

Chelsea 2006-08 Home Kit

Chelsea will begin the 2007-08 Premiership campaign wearing the traditional blue for their home matches. Adidas has always been a company that provides their teams with the upmost quality in uniforms, and this is no exception. Positioned on a solid field of blue is the “Samsung Mobile” and the classic Chelsea Badge on the left chest. Add the standard Adidas three stripes to each arm and a few white areas around the collar and there you have it. Chelsea’s Home Kit.

This is one of the most recognized kits in the world, and by keeping it basic and traditional, the team and Adidas have come up with a great product. Chelsea is one of the most respected clubs in the world, and this kit represents a top club all the way around.
